Founded in 2008 by Tracy and Keith Caraway as James Caraway Christian Academy, our school was established with a vision to provide Christ-centered education rooted in biblical truth. Today, as Great Plains Christian School, we continue that mission by equipping students to know God, grow in wisdom, and impact the world for Christ. Located in Chickasha, Oklahoma, we offer a close-knit learning environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their God-given potential.
At Great Plains Christian School, we believe every child is uniquely created by God and thrives in a Christ-centered environment that nurtures growth academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Our goal is to provide a safe, engaging space where students are challenged to reach their full potential, develop godly wisdom, and form a Biblical worldview. Through Bible-based curriculum, high expectations, and Christ-like teachers who model faith and character, we equip students to use their gifts to serve and impact their homes, churches, and communities for Christ.
It is with great joy and deep gratitude to the Lord that I write to you as the principal of our newly re-opened Christian school here in Chickasha. After years of praying, preparing, and waiting on God's perfect timing, we are thrilled to open our doors once again to families who desire an education that places Jesus at the center of every classroom, every subject, and every heart.
For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of teaching in classrooms across the United States and Costa Rica. My journey in education has been anything but ordinary—shaped by the Lord through seasons of military service as a medic in the U.S. Air Force, and through missions experiences in Africa, Mexico, Honduras, and the Philippines. Each of these experiences has fueled my passion for raising up the next generation to know Jesus deeply and to boldly share His love with the world.
Great Plains Christian School is more than just a place to learn, it is a community where families and educators partner together to discover each child's God-given identity and purpose. I believe that every student is uniquely gifted, and it is our mission to help them uncover those gifts and use them to impact their world for Christ.
Hands-on learning, time in God’s creation, and space for imagination and creativity are essential parts of our approach. Children were made to explore, to wonder, and to build, and here, they will have the freedom and encouragement to do just that, all while being rooted in biblical truth.
